June 7th arrived wrapped in true early-summer intensity. Smoke from western Canada’s wildfires lingered in the air, the sun blazed overhead, and I walked away with my first sunburn of the wedding season. Somehow, it felt perfectly aligned with A & S—warm, bold, and full of undeniable love.
Both the ceremony and reception were held at Happy Life Farms, a venue that effortlessly blends open landscapes with an intimate, welcoming atmosphere. Even with the hazy skies, the property felt alive—golden light, rolling views, and a calm that grounded the entire day.

The morning began with getting ready time alongside the girls, and it was everything you hope for as a wedding photographer. Laughter filled the room, music played softly in the background, and doggy cuddles were generously sprinkled between makeup touch-ups and final dress adjustments. It was relaxed, joyful, and set the tone for the rest of the day.
One of the first emotional highlights was the bride and bridesmaids’ first look. The reactions were instant and heartfelt—happy tears, wide smiles, and that collective pause where everyone realizes just how special this day is going to be.
Then came the couple’s first look, set on the edge of a hill. The location mirrored their engagement session so closely that it felt like a full-circle moment—past and present gently colliding. The quiet emotion between A & S was powerful, and I’ll admit, I was in tears behind the camera. Moments like that are why first looks remain one of my favourite parts of a wedding day.
The outdoor ceremony at Happy Life Farms was beautiful and deeply personal, made even more memorable by the groomsmen walking their fur babies down the aisle. Dogs at weddings have a way of softening everything—bringing laughter, warmth, and an immediate sense of family.
Following the ceremony, guests gathered for post-ceremony toasts at a stunning champagne wall, setting the mood for celebration. The reception that followed—was filled with heartfelt speeches where you could truly feel the love in every word. A & S were surrounded by people who adore them, and that support radiated through the room.
Just when the emotions reached their peak, the bride and bridesmaids surprised everyone with a choreographed dance—fun, playful, and the perfect transition into party mode.
And the party?
The party was partying.
The dance floor stayed full, the energy never dipped, and the celebration carried late into the night.
It was the kind of wedding reception that reminds you why farm weddings in Ontario are so special—meaningful, and full of genuine connection.
A & S’s wedding day at Happy Life Farms was hot, hazy, emotional, and wildly joyful. A day rooted in love, laughter, and moments that will be felt long after the sunburn fades.
Exactly the kind of story I’m honoured to tell.
xoxo
