The Words That Stay With Me: Why Testimonials Mean So Much

As a photographer, I spend so much of my time behind the camera quietly observing moments as they unfold — the way someone reaches for their partner’s hand, the laugh that bubbles up when a family forgets the camera is there, the soft anticipation of parents waiting to meet their baby. My role is to notice those moments and preserve them.

But what happens after the photos are delivered is something that touches me in an entirely different way.

When a client takes the time to write a testimonial or leave a review, it’s never something I take lightly. Those words hold so much meaning to me — far more than most people probably realize.

If you know anything about love languages, mine is words of affirmation. Always has been. Words have a way of settling deeply in my heart, and when someone shares how they felt during their session, what the images mean to them, or how comfortable they felt in front of my camera… it truly touches my soul.

Photography can sometimes feel like a quiet kind of work. I pour my heart into creating a space where people feel safe to be themselves — where laughter, connection, and real moments are welcomed exactly as they are. I guide gently, observe carefully, and try to capture the kind of images that will mean even more years from now than they do today.

So when someone comes back and tells me that they felt comfortable, that they loved their experience, or that the photos made them cry happy tears… those words stay with me.

They remind me why I do this.

They remind me that what I’m creating isn’t just photographs — it’s memories that people will hold onto long after the moment has passed.

Testimonials also help future clients in ways many people don’t realize. When someone is considering booking a photographer, they’re often wondering things like:

Will I feel awkward?

Will my kids cooperate?

What if I’m not photogenic?

Will this actually feel enjoyable?

Reading the experiences of others helps answer those quiet worries. It lets people see themselves in someone else’s story and understand what a session with Frontenac Photography might truly feel like.

Your words create connection before I even meet someone.

And that is incredibly powerful.

So if you’ve ever taken a few minutes to share your experience, write a review, or send a message about what your images mean to you — please know that those words are treasured here. They are saved, reread, and carried with me far longer than you might imagine.

Because for someone whose heart speaks the language of affirmation… those words matter more than you know.

And every single one means the world to me.

xoxo
