There are some couples who feel like familiar pages in your favourite book — and C&K are exactly that for me.

Throughout the years, I’ve had the joy of photographing their family more than once. I’ve watched their love grow, their family expand, and their story unfold in the most beautiful ways. But this September engagement session? It felt different.

For the first time, it was just the three of us.

No little hands tugging at pant legs.

No giggles running through the frame.

Just the two of them — slowing down, leaning in, and soaking up this season before the next beautiful chapter begins.

Their sweet kiddos have always been such a big part of our past sessions, and I absolutely adore that about them. But getting to witness this quiet, love-filled moment between C&K reminded me of something so important: before the family, before the titles of “Mom” and “Dad,” there was always this love at the centre of it all.

The kind of love that stands steady.

The kind that feels comfortable and deep.

The kind that doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful.

September gave us the most beautiful backdrop — soft light, just enough warmth in the air, and that gentle shift in season that mirrors change in the best way. There was laughter. There were slow walks. There were those in-between glances that say everything without a single word.

It felt less like a photoshoot and more like pressing pause.

And that’s what I love most about engagement sessions — especially for couples who are already building a life together. It’s a chance to come back to the beginning. To remember the foundation. To hold onto the why.

Now the countdown to the “I do’s” gets shorter with each passing day 🤍

And if this session was any glimpse into what their wedding day will feel like, it’s going to be filled with intention, warmth, and so much heart.

C&K — thank you for trusting me again. For letting me step into this quieter season with you. For reminding me that at the centre of every growing family is a love story still unfolding.

I cannot wait to stand beside you on your wedding day and document the next chapter!

xoxo

Cass
