Soft light, tiny details, and so much love already filling this nursery 💚

There is something incredibly special about being invited into a home during this season. The quiet anticipation. The carefully folded baby clothes. The way the light slips through the curtains and lands gently on a crib that hasn’t yet been used but already holds so many dreams.

As a photographer, in-home sessions will always have my heart. They are slow. They are

calm. They are grounded in the real, everyday beauty of this chapter — the one just before everything changes.

This session felt especially meaningful.

The nursery was filled with soft touches and thoughtful details — little pieces of preparation that spoke volumes about how deeply loved this baby already is. We moved gently through the space, capturing mama resting her hands over her belly, quiet smiles exchanged, and the kind of stillness that only comes in the final weeks before meeting your little one.

There’s no rushing in an in-home maternity session.

No performance.

Just presence.

As an family and maternity photographer, I believe these moments deserve to be documented exactly as they are — the anticipation, the nervous excitement, the way the room feels before it’s filled with midnight feedings and lullabies.

And yes… I may or may not have already claimed my role as baby’s craziest aunt 🥹

Our whole family is counting down the days until we get to meet this little human. We are ready. Waiting. Extremely prepared to spoil this sweet bean and love their parents through this next season.

I have gone back and forth with my guess on who will be joining us — girl or boy — but one thing I know for certain is that this baby will fill every single one of our hearts with so much joy.

Photographing maternity sessions like this reminds me how special it is that I do what I do. It isn’t just about beautiful images. It’s about preserving the quiet chapters. The in-between seasons. The soft light before the big moment arrives.

Turning moments into memories for my clients is something I cherish — but when it’s my own family trusting me with that responsibility, it hits differently.

xoxo
