Some sessions feel less like posing for photos and more like slowing down long enough to soak in the season you’re in. Between the golden light, rain clouds that passed just in time, soft prompts, and the sweetest little secret only dad knew, O & C’s maternity session was filled with quiet moments that already felt like memories before baby even arrived. 🤍

Some stories don’t begin when the camera comes out. They begin years before — in quiet hope, in waiting, in wondering if this chapter will ever arrive.

There is something so tender about photographing a couple stepping into parenthood for the very first time. Add in the joyful shock of “there’s two,” and the whole atmosphere shifts. There’s awe. There’s nervous laughter. There’s that quiet look between them that says, we’re really doing this.

There is something incredibly special about being invited into a home during this season. The quiet anticipation. The carefully folded baby clothes. The way the light slips through the curtains and lands gently on a crib that hasn’t yet been used but already holds so many dreams.

There are sessions that are beautiful…And then there are sessions that feel aligned from the very first email.

Some sessions are booked months in advance. Some are planned with Pinterest boards and timelines. And some… are simply given from the heart. M & J’s maternity session was a gift. Not because there was a special occasion circled on the calendar — but because I could see that mama needed a pregnancy pick-me-up. We are neighbours, and sometimes you just know when someone needs to feel seen, celebrated, and reminded of the strength they’re carrying. A Kingston Lakeside Maternity
