M & J’s maternity session was a gift. Not because there was a special occasion circled on the calendar — but because I could see that mama needed a pregnancy pick-me-up. We are neighbours, and sometimes you just know when someone needs to feel seen, celebrated, and reminded of the strength they’re carrying.

A Kingston Lakeside Maternity Session with Full Trust

So we planned a warm summer evening by the lake at Wartman Patterson Park Kingston — one of Kingston’s most beautiful waterfront locations for maternity photos.

This was their very first professional photoshoot.

No pressure.

No expectations.

Just trust.

Mama wasn’t sure what to wear, so we chose a soft blue boho dress from the client closet — flowy, romantic, and perfect for a summer maternity session along Lake Ontario.

It moved effortlessly in the breeze and photographed beautifully against the lake.

M&J gave me full creative freedom — and that trust always creates space for honest, connected images.

We walked along the shoreline, paused to let the golden light wrap around them, and leaned into the in-between moments.

The way he instinctively reached for her hand.

The quiet smiles.

The anticipation of meeting their baby.

The kind of moments that define why maternity photography matters.
